The Whole Note (TWN) is a place for me to talk about my latest music finds. I spend about 20 hours per week looking for new music. I'll check out maybe 20 artists that I've never heard of before, and listen to another five or six albums from artists that I know. I will often play some of my favorites at Balls Cabaret where I play bumper music between acts. Most weeks, someone will ask me about something I played, or about new finds. After realizing that I was writing individual TWNs a few times a month, I figured I might as well organize it to save myself some work and spread the music love. I now send out an email every few weeks with my new favs. I also include one mp3 from each album. Those mp3s are only available in the emails. I will post the text of these emails here for future reference. (For clarification, I put the mp3s in a secret folder on this site and include links to them in the email. I don't actually send the mp3s, so you don't need to worry about my emails filling up your mailbox.) Sign up.
